Merrily We Roll Along Performances: MARCH 22-25, 2007 Wednesday @10 AM, Thursday- Saturday @7:00 PM, Sunday @3:00 PM Book by: George Furth Lyrics & Music by: Stephen Sondheim Based on the Kaufman and Hart play by the same name Frank, Charlie, and Mary were just starting out as artists in New York City in the late 1950s. Frank wrote music, Charlie wrote the words, and their friend Mary wrote stories. As the years went by, they became very successful professionally, but the friends drifted apart. The musical begins in 1977, and goes backward in time, each scene reaching further back in time, revealing more and more about the characters. Featuring the song “Our Time,” and other brilliant songs by Sondheim (who also wrote Into the Woods and Sweeney Todd and the lyrics for West Side Story), this musical will be our Cappies’ production. This unusual show is sure to stimulate you, but is not recommended for all children. |
