Atholton High School Technology Boosters

The mission of the Technology Boosters is to support the AHS Principal, Information Technology Academy, and staff in a variety of extracurricula activities focused on technology by integrating the resources of the parents. The Technology Boosters provide support in the following areas:

Corporate funding and grants

Corporate internships, guest speakers, field trips, mentors, and career fairs

Parent resources to help organize and support the various activities

Technology advocacy

Technology Boosters goals for 2007-08 School Year:

Raise $10,000 in corporate sponsorships for FIRST Robotics team
Provide support to Robotics teams
Designate two parents to support the FIRST Robotics team effort for siz weeks
Identify student internships
Locate mentors and speakers
Identify areas, other than Robotics, to be supported by the Technology Boosters

5 Jan 08 - Kickoff off for FIRST Robotics season

5 Jan thru 8 Feb - Six week build period for FIRST Robotics

15 Feb 08 - FIRST scrimmage at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute

13 - 15 Mar 08 - FIRST Robotics Chesapeake Regional Competition

Botball Competition

15 & 16 Mar 08 - Greater DC Regional Workshop - receive kit and training

25 Mar - 02 May 08 - Two Atholton teams prepare for Botball competition
